Test emails

First, send an email to your own address and check if the message arrives in your inbox.

If issues arise: Check settings

No emails visible? Set the root folder path

Open File, select your account, and go to Account Settings ⯈ Account Name and Synchronization Settings.

Enter the value INBOX in uppercase in the Root Folder Path field and confirm with Next.

The root folder path must be exactly INBOX. Otherwise, incoming emails may not appear in the inbox.

Repair account

Go to File ⯈ Account Settings ⯈ Account Settings, select your email account, and click on Repair.

Select I want to manually repair my account and then click on Repair.

Check inbox (IMAP)

Check username, server, and encryption. Make sure SSL/TLS is enabled and the Server Port is set to 993.

Without SSL/TLS and port 993, an encrypted IMAP connection cannot be established.

Check outgoing mail (SMTP)

Check the server, enable SSL/TLS, and set the Server Port to 465. Additionally, enable My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.

Without SMTP authentication or with an incorrect port, outgoing emails cannot be sent.

Setup completed

If the test message is successfully received and sending and receiving work, the setup is complete.

FAQ

what customers often ask us

IMAP or POP3 – which one should I use?

It is recommended to use IMAP so that emails and folders stay in sync across all devices. POP3 only downloads emails locally and is only useful in special cases.

Where can I find my access data (server, ports, username, password)?

Open your bluetronix homepage in editing mode: Email ⯈ Email Address Management. Click on Access Data for the desired address. Pay attention to the exact case.

What ports and encryption do I need?

IMAP: Port 993 with SSL/TLS.
SMTP: Port 587 (or 465, depending on access data) with STARTTLS/SSL and active Authentication: Password.

How can I quickly test if everything works?

Send yourself an email. If it arrives in the Inbox and appears in the Sent folder, everything is set up correctly.

Troubleshooting – common causes

Check server names, ports, SSL/TLS, Authentication: Password, username (often the full email address), and password. If folders are missing, set the root folder path/IMAP server directory to INBOX and subscribe to IMAP folders.

How do I manually set up my account?

File ⯈ Add Account → Enter email address → Activate I want to manually set up my account → Connect → Choose IMAP.

SSL warnings appear during setup – what to do?

Confirm SSL warnings for Incoming and Outgoing each with Yes to establish the encrypted connection.

Outlook shows no incoming emails – set root folder path.

File → Select account → Account Settings → Account Name and Synchronization Settings → Set Root Folder Path to INBOX → Next.

How can I repair the account?

File ⯈ Account Settings ⯈ Account Settings → Select account → Repair → Select I want to manually repair my account and follow the steps.
